THE UCI 3RIDES GRAN FONDO WILL TAKE PLACE ON THE SOUTHERN WINE ROUTE IN 2026
The 3RIDES Gran Fondo is becoming a cross-border spring classic. In its fifth year, the road race of the 3RIDES Series and part of the UCI Gran Fondo World Series will lead through the vineyards and even into France on Saturday, April 25. In combination with the races of the traditional "Grand Prix of the Southern Wine Route" as part of the German Cycling League, a 100-kilometre-long, technically demanding circuit with start and finish at the German Wine Gate in Schweigen-Rechtenbach awaits the participants.

"The lap has slightly fewer vertical meters than we were used to recently," says Björn Müller, CEO of 3RIDES. "But it remains challenging and varied and is deliberately designed to be different from the other races." Another unique feature is that the race crosses the border twice: a good 15 kilometers of the route run through France. In total, the 100-kilometre route has a good 600 meters of elevation gain.
"The route is not only scenically very special, but also exciting for spectators," says Müller. After an opening lap, the race leads through the start and finish again. "Perfect for following the race action up close."

For Andreas Gensheimer, head of organization for the "Grand Prix of the Southern Wine Route", the cooperation with 3RIDES is the perfect enhancement for the race: "I am looking forward to working together and joining forces. This will allow us to bring even more people to the Southern Wine Route and Alsace, which are not only scenically attractive."
An exciting new region of the 3RIDES Series awaits participants on the Southern Wine Route. Registration for the 3RIDES Gran Fondo Südliche Weinstraße, which is also part of the UCI Gran Fondo World Series, is now open. Early bookers benefit from attractive special prices. In addition to the 3RIDES Gran Fondo, there will also be a 50-kilometer amateur race in Schweigen-Rechtenbach on 25 April. The organizer here is RV Vorwärts 04 Offenbach/Queich.
